The QNAP TS-431XEU-2G is a short depth rackmount NAS that is designed and suitable to used for expanding businesses that needs backup, restoration, private cloud, storage for virtualization in a compact space. This NAS is built with a state-of-the-art short depth rackmount that is ideal for compact racks or places with a lot of cabling. It only has a depth of only 11.46 inches (291 mm), making it an excellent choice for smaller racks and flexible deployment options. The TS-431XeU provides a flexible all-in-one functionality and unique features such as VJBOD (Virtual JBOD) that is a cost-effective way to utilize unused NAS storage space for expanding the storage capacity of other QNAP NAS and Container Station that enables users to rapidly develop and deploy Internet of Things (IoT) apps.

It is powered by a high-end Alpine AL314 quad-core 1.7 GHz ARM® Cortex-A15 processor, 2GB RAM with a maximum capacity of 8GB, 2 x Gigabit ethernet ports, 10GbE SFP+ port, 4 x USB 3.0 Type-A ports, and an empty four drive bays that can use for both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA III hard drives or SSDs.

In addition, the TS-431XEU-2G have QTS 4.3 operating system installed along with all the features available on it and have the capability to expand the total storage capacity of up to 24 drives by connecting up to 2 QNAP expansion enclosure (UX-1200U-RP or UX-800U-RP).
