The Extreme Networks 5520 Universal Switch 5520-24X is a high-performance, feature-rich edge and aggregation switch designed for the next-generation digital enterprise. It provides end-to-end secure network segmentation, in addition to advanced policy capabilities, and offers a user-selectable choice of Extreme’s flagship switch operating systems.

The 5520 Series has variants with 24, 48, and 1 Gigabit ports as well as 1/2.5/5 Gigabit multi-rate and 24 Gigabit ports. Moreover, the family supports next-generation powered Ethernet devices including digital signage, pan-tilt-zoom cameras, smart lighting, and point-of-sale terminals, making it an appropriate wired backend for wireless APs. For flexible connection to other switches or devices across a variety of media, the 5520 also supports 10Gb and 25Gb modular uplinks.

This makes the Extreme Networks 5520 a uniquely flexible platform that can be deployed across a range of edge, aggregation and wiring-closet environments.
