Each device is given an identifying number and an operational mode number using the configurators kit. The configurator kit's clamp can be used to insert configurators into the proper housings.

During installation, this configurator is used to assign a progressive address to each handset or monitor. This makes it possible for the porter switchboard and the entrance panel to recognise every intercom in the system.

Using a specialised tool, the configurator is placed into an addressing board that is situated on the back of the panel.
