The Axis Communications FA51 Surveillance Camera Main Unit provides a discreet surveillance solution when connected to a sensor unit. It has a resolution of 1080p at 30 frames per second. It enables the connection of external devices such as a PVM (Public Viewing Monitor). It contains the AXIS Face Detector, which provides a proactive approach to reducing shoplifting. When linked to a PVM, this low-cost main unit would highlight faces inside bounding boxes, giving would-be burglars the impression that they are being watched. When put at store entrances, it also aids in the optimization of in-store security resources.

The AXIS FA51 offers one HDTV 1080p video stream at full frame rate and is compatible with all AXIS FA sensor units. When there are both dark and bright portions in the scene, Forensic WDR adds clarity. The main unit may link directly to the PVM, resulting in shorter latency and a lesser likelihood of network problems. Furthermore, it will continue to display images even when the network is down as long as there is electricity.

The units are linked by a connection provided with the sensor unit. This permits the sensor unit to be mounted almost anywhere. This very discrete gadget blends in smoothly with any surroundings, and the camera lens may be the only visible portion. It is ideal for placement in monitors and ATMs.
